These terms are an agreement between you and Kindling. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've tried to keep them short and plain.
Accounts are for grown-ups
You must be 18 or older and a parent or legal guardian (or have their permission) to create an account. You're responsible for the child profiles you add, for keeping your login safe, and for the activity on your account.
The Family subscription
- New accounts get a 7-day free trial (14 days when you start in August or September). You won't be charged if you cancel before it ends.
- The Family plan covers up to 5 child profiles and up to 40 newly created games per month. Playing, replaying and editing games is unlimited.
- After the trial, the Family plan renews monthly or yearly at the price shown at sign-up until you cancel.
- Subscriptions are billed and managed through the App Store. Cancel or request refunds in your device's subscription settings, under Apple's policies.
- We'll give you notice before any price change applies to your subscription.
Your materials
You keep ownership of the worksheets, photos and notes you upload. You give us permission to process them only to build, store and show games for your family. Please only upload materials you have the right to use for your own family's learning.
AI-made games
Games are drafted by AI from what you provide. We work hard to make them accurate and age-appropriate, and you can preview and edit every game before your children see it — but mistakes are possible. Kindling supports learning; it doesn't replace your child's teacher or school.
Acceptable use
Don't use Kindling to create content that's harmful, hateful, or inappropriate for children, to break the law, or to interfere with the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.
Our stuff
Kindling, Pip, the app, its games, artwork, sounds and narration voice belong to us. Your subscription lets your household use them for personal, non-commercial learning.
Ending things
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms. Deletion is handled as described in our privacy policy.
Disclaimers and liability
Kindling is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Kindling after that means you accept the new terms.
